Dr Kristina Balampanidou
Dr Kristina Balampanidou is a Reading-based Educational Psychologist.
Originally from Greece, Kristina has worked in the public and private sectors as an Assistant Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Educational Psychologist.
Kristina completed her doctoral training at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust in September 2019.
She is passionate about supporting school systems to develop policies for mental health, supporting children and young people, families and staff. Kristina is currently interested in Compassion-Focused Therapy, and supporting children and young people with traumatic experiences.
Kristina specializes in assessing, formulating and treating a range of client problems with competence and creativity; facilitating consultations at 1:1, group, and organizational levels; and planning and delivering training for range of needs.
She engages very well with children, young people and families/carers, and uses CBT, systemic and psychodynamic, play-based and narrative interventions, and psychometrics among other therapeutic approaches. Kristina has significant experience of psychological reporting and correspondence.
She speaks Greek and Russian, and is registered with the HCPC.
